The first portrait for my dark tower series. I plan to draw most of the characters and maybe even some of the places from Stephen King's epic series: The Dark Tower.

I know this is a little different from my normal style, but I really want to get back to drawing purely from my imagination. But for those of you who are worrying, fret not as I am still doing my Pin-ups, etc.

Yes, my first thought was that this was a bit different from your normal. But, I can relate (if you look at a couple of my recent pastel drawings). Sometimes it is great to just "let go" doesn't it? If you look at some of the early work of S. Dali you can see that he was great at realism too, but I guess we can all get caught up in the passion, right? Feels good too (at least to me).
